Job Role

1. Role Purpose 

The Pharmaceutical Tele sales Representative drives sales growth by conducting professional outbound and inbound calls to pharmacies, clinics, hospitals, wholesalers, and chemists. The role ensures consistent revenue generation, excellent customer engagement, accurate order capture, and strong relationship management. 

This position supports daily sales operations including client outreach, order processing, product promotion, pipeline updates, and follow-ups. As the organization strengthens its commercial structure, the tele sales role acts as a key anchor for customer retention, timely order fulfilment, accurate product communication, and achievement of sales targets. 

2. Key Responsibilities 

A. Sales Generation & Customer Outreach 

  • Conduct outbound sales calls to pharmacies, clinics, hospitals, wholesalers, and chemists. 
  • Receive inbound calls and professionally process customer orders. 
  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets. 
  • Introduce new pharmaceutical products, promotions, and campaigns. 
  • Build long-term customer relationships that encourage repeat orders. 

B. Customer Relationship Management 

  • Maintain accurate customer contact lists, call logs, and CRM updates. 
  • Follow up on pending orders, deliveries, and payments. 
  • Handle customer concerns and escalate complex issues for resolution. 
  • Conduct post-delivery satisfaction follow-ups to strengthen client loyalty. 

C. Product Knowledge & Market Awareness 

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical products, strengths, dosages, and therapeutic categories. 
  • Stay informed about new product launches, market trends, and price changes. 
  • Provide customers with accurate technical and product-related information. 

D. Order Processing & Documentation 

  • Enter orders into the system accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Coordinate with warehouse and delivery teams for dispatch and fulfilment. 
  • Track and update customers on order progress and expected delivery timelines. 
  • Maintain complete records including call sheets, order logs, and sales documentation. 

E. Reporting & Performance Monitoring 

  • Prepare daily and weekly tele sales activity reports. 
  • Update management on sales pipeline, conversion rates, and call performance. 
  • Share customer feedback, competitor activity, and market insights. 
  • Support sales forecasting based on call trends and customer buying patterns. 

F. Compliance & Quality Standards 

  • Ensure communication aligns with pharmaceutical regulatory standards. 
  • Adhere to internal SOPs on pricing, documentation, and promotional communication. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information. 
  • Uphold ethical pharmaceutical sales and customer engagement practices. 
Qualification

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Pharmacy, or related field. 
  • Experience in pharmaceutical tele sales or medical sales is an added advantage. 
  • Strong verbal communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM/sales software. 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work under pressure. 
  • High professionalism, customer service, and detail orientation.
