Role Summary
The Station Manager is the overall custodian of station-level operations, responsible for safe, compliant, and profitable delivery of fuel and allied services in line with our client quality, HSSE, and customer service standards. The role ensures operational efficiency, stock integrity, staff discipline, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer experience while safeguarding company assets and brand reputation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Station Operations & Service Delivery
- Oversee daily station operations including fuel dispensing, service bay, car wash, and forecourt activities.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of products (PMS, IK, Jet A-1 where applicable) and services.6
- Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all station functions.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, order, and professional conduct at all times.
2. HSSE & Regulatory Compliance
- Enforce full compliance with Company’s HSSE Management System (HSSEMS).
- Ensure safe fuel handling, spill prevention, fire safety readiness, and emergency response preparedness.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and toolbox talks with station staff.
- Ensure compliance with EPRA, KRA, county authorities, and aviation fuel standards where applicable.
- Report, investigate, and close all HSSE incidents in line with company procedures.
3. Stock Management & Loss Control
- Oversee fuel receipts, dip readings, reconciliations, and daily stock reports.
- Ensure zero tolerance for product losses, pilferage, or undocumented variances.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies promptly with supporting documentation.
- Safeguard station assets including tanks, pumps, POS systems, and cash.
4. Financial Control & Reporting
- Ensure accurate daily sales reporting, cash controls, and banking compliance.
- Coordinate with Finance on pricing updates, margins, and station profitability.
- Monitor operational costs and implement cost-control measures without compromising service or safety.
- Submit timely daily, weekly, and monthly operational and financial reports.
5. People Management & Discipline
- Supervise, schedule, and manage station staff to ensure optimal coverage and productivity.
- Enforce staff discipline, attendance, grooming, and performance standards.
- Identify training needs and support onboarding and continuous staff development.
- Conduct performance appraisals and recommend corrective or disciplinary action where necessary.
6. Customer Experience & Brand Representation
- Ensure consistent delivery of courteous, professional, and efficient customer service.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and escalate complex issues appropriately.
- Uphold client’s brand image, values, and service promise at station level.
7. Security & Asset Protection
- Coordinate with security personnel to prevent theft, fraud, and vandalism.
- Ensure adherence to security protocols, especially during fuel deliveries and cash handling.
- Report and escalate security incidents immediately.
