Job Description
Job Role

To oversee the procurement of pharmaceutical products and supplies, ensuring timely availability, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards. The officer is responsible for supplier management, contract negotiation, and maintaining accurate procurement records to support smooth operations.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Procurement Operations

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for pharmaceutical products.
  • Ensure procurement processes comply with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier contracts.

B. Inventory & Supply Management

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse/logistics teams to avoid stock-outs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of supplies to meet operational needs.
  • Conduct market research to identify reliable suppliers and competitive pricing.

C. Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits and ensure documentation meets compliance standards.
  • Enforce company procurement policies and ethical practices.

D. Reporting & Financial Management

  • Prepare procurement reports and provide insights for cost control and budgeting.
  • Track procurement costs and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Maintain supplier performance records and evaluations.

 

Qualification

3. Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CIPS) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products and regulatory requirements.

4. Skills and Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Analytical and market research abilities.
  • Knowledge of procurement systems and inventory management.
  • Attention to detail and compliance orientation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with ERP or procurement software.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain dynamics.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Budgeting and cost-control skills.
