Job Role
The Business Development Executive – Heavy Equipment Spare Parts will be responsible for driving business growth through the identification, development, and conversion of sales opportunities within the heavy equipment and machinery spare parts market.
The role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment spare parts, customer applications, equipment requirements, and the commercial environment within industries such as construction, mining, agriculture, logistics, manufacturing, and other equipment-intensive sectors.
2. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Drive revenue growth through the sale of heavy equipment spare parts.
- Identify and develop new customer and market opportunities.
- Grow the company's customer base and market share.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
- Provide appropriate spare parts solutions based on customer and equipment requirements.
- Develop strategic accounts and increase repeat business.
- Achieve agreed sales and business development targets.
3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Business Development & Sales
- Identify new business opportunities within the heavy equipment spare parts market.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Prospect for new customers through market research, referrals, site visits, networking, and industry contacts.
- Generate quotations and commercial proposals.
- Follow up on enquiries, quotations, and outstanding opportunities.
- Negotiate prices and commercial terms within approved company guidelines.
- Meet and exceed agreed sales targets.
B. Heavy Equipment Spare Parts Sales
- Understand customer equipment requirements and recommend appropriate spare parts.
- Provide technical and commercial information on spare parts to customers.
- Develop knowledge of various heavy equipment brands, models, components, and applications.
- Identify replacement, maintenance, and recurring spare parts requirements.
- Support customers in identifying suitable parts based on equipment specifications.
- Coordinate with technical and procurement teams to source required parts.
C. Customer & Account Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Conduct regular customer visits and account reviews.
- Understand customer purchasing patterns and future requirements.
- Develop key accounts and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Resolve customer concerns and ensure timely responses to enquiries.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
D. Market Development
- Research the heavy equipment and spare parts market.
- Identify new industries, companies, projects, and customer segments.
- Monitor competitor activities, market pricing, and product availability.
- Identify upcoming construction, mining, agricultural, infrastructure, and industrial projects.
- Develop strategies to penetrate new markets and increase sales.
E. Sales Pipeline & Reporting
- Maintain accurate customer and sales records.
- Track leads, enquiries, quotations, negotiations, and closed deals.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Monitor sales performance against targets.
- Provide management with regular updates on market opportunities, customer feedback, and competitor activities.
F. Internal Coordination
- Work closely with procurement and technical teams to ensure availability of required spare parts.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams on stock availability and delivery.
- Follow up on customer orders to ensure timely fulfilment.
- Collaborate with finance teams on customer accounts and payment matters.
- Ensure smooth coordination from customer enquiry through order fulfilment.
