Job Role
The Plastics Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and engineering expertise across plastics manufacturing and production processes. The role will involve supporting product development, optimizing manufacturing processes, improving product quality, troubleshooting production challenges, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Plastics Manufacturing & Process Engineering
- Develop, implement, and optimize plastics manufacturing processes.
- Monitor production processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Optimize machine settings, production parameters, cycle times, and material utilization.
- Evaluate production efficiency and recommend process improvements.
- Support the implementation of new manufacturing technologies and processes.
B. Materials & Product Development
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate plastic materials for specific applications.
- Support material selection, testing, and validation.
- Participate in the development and modification of plastic products.
- Work with design and production teams to improve product performance and manufacturability.
- Conduct technical evaluations of raw materials and finished products.
C. Production & Equipment Support
- Work closely with production teams to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify causes of production downtime.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance initiatives.
- Recommend equipment improvements, modifications, or replacements where necessary.
- Ensure production equipment operates within required technical specifications.
D. Quality Assurance & Process Control
- Establish and monitor appropriate process and product quality parameters.
- Investigate quality defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of production and quality problems.
- Work with quality teams to improve product consistency.
- Ensure production processes comply with applicable standards and specifications.
E. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to reduce material wastage and production costs.
- Implement lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
- Monitor key production and engineering performance indicators.
- Develop solutions to improve productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
- Support automation and technology improvement initiatives where applicable.
F. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate technical and production documentation.
- Prepare engineering reports, process specifications, and technical recommendations.
- Document process changes and improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and report on production performance and technical issues.
- Ensure engineering procedures and technical records are properly maintained.
G. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with production, quality assurance, maintenance, procurement, and commercial teams.
- Provide technical support to management and production personnel.
- Support supplier evaluations and technical discussions.
- Participate in technical projects and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
