Job Role

The Retail Manager – PMS & AGO is responsible for overseeing the retail operations of petroleum products (Premium Motor Spirit and Automotive Gas Oil) across designated outlets. The role ensures efficient fuel station management, compliance with industry standards, maximization of sales, and delivery of excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is commercially astute, operationally strong, and capable of driving profitability while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

2. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • Drive retail sales growth and profitability in PMS & AGO outlets.
  • Ensure compliance with oil and gas industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Strengthen operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Enhance visibility, accountability, and performance tracking across retail operations.
  • Support strategic expansion and sustainability of retail networks.

3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Retail Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations of PMS & AGO retail outlets.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor fuel stock levels, deliveries, and inventory management.
  • Implement operational policies and procedures across outlets.

B. Sales & Business Development

  • Drive sales targets and revenue growth for PMS & AGO products.
  • Develop and execute promotional campaigns to increase market share.
  • Analyze sales trends and recommend pricing strategies.
  • Identify new retail opportunities and support network expansion.

C. Customer Service & Relationship Management

  • Ensure high standards of customer service at retail outlets.
  • Address customer complaints and resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Build strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Promote brand loyalty and customer retention initiatives.

D. Financial & Performance Reporting

  • Prepare weekly and monthly retail performance reports.
  • Track KPIs including sales volumes, margins, and profitability.
  • Monitor operational costs and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes.

E. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with oil and gas industry regulations.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of retail outlets.
  • Implement risk management and escalation procedures.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and ethical business practices.

F. Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Supervise station managers and retail staff.
  • Provide training and development to enhance staff performance.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, finance, and marketing teams.
  • Align retail operations with corporate strategy and objectives.
Qualification

4. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in retail management within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong background in PMS & AGO operations, sales, and compliance.
  • Experience in managing multi-site retail operations is highly preferred.
