- Job Purpose:
To provide efficient, safe, and timely delivery of parcels, documents, and goods to customers while maintaining high standards of professionalism, customer service, and compliance with company policies and traffic regulations.
2. Key Responsibilities of a Rider – Delivery Service
A. Collection and Delivery of Items
- Collect parcels, documents, or goods from dispatch points as scheduled.
- Verify delivery details including recipient name, address, and contact information before departure.
- Deliver items safely and within agreed timelines.
- Plan efficient routes to minimize delays and fuel consumption.
- Prioritize urgent or express deliveries where applicable
- B. Handling and Care of Goods
- Handle parcels carefully to prevent damage, loss, or tampering.
- Ensure fragile or sensitive items are transported appropriately.
- Secure all items properly during transit.
- Report any damaged or suspicious packages immediately to the supervisor.
- C. Documentation and Record Keeping
- Obtain proof of delivery (signature, name, ID number, or company stamp).
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and daily reports.
- Reconcile collected cash (for cash-on-delivery services) with dispatch records.
- Submit all required documents at the end of each shift/day.
- D. Customer Service and Professional Conduct
- Maintain a polite and professional attitude when interacting with customers.
- Respond to customer inquiries courteously and escalate complaints when necessary.
- Represent the company positively at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
- E. Motorcycle Maintenance and Road Safety
- Conduct daily safety checks (brakes, lights, indicators, tires, mirrors).
- Ensure the motorcycle is clean, fueled, and well maintained.
- Wear protective gear (helmet, reflective jacket, gloves) at all times.
- Observe all traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Report accidents, incidents, or mechanical faults immediately.
