Job Role
Key Responsibilities
1. Safe & Efficient Transportation
- Drive company vehicles to assigned destinations, ensuring safe and timely arrival.
- Transport staff to meetings, client visits, field sites, or airport pickups as needed.
- Deliver and collect packages, tools, spare parts, and documents between offices, workshops, and vendors.
2. Defensive & Risk-Aware Driving
- Apply defensive driving techniques to avoid hazards, anticipate risks, and maintain vehicle control in varied conditions (urban traffic, rural roads, industrial sites).
- Avoid aggressive driving, excessive speeding, and high-risk maneuvers.
- Demonstrate readiness to respond to mechanical breakdowns, road incidents, or poor weather conditions with professionalism and calm.
3. Vehicle Maintenance & Inspections
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, checking tire pressure, oil, brakes, water, lights, and general roadworthiness.
- Keep vehicle clean, fueled, and in excellent condition at all times.
- Report mechanical issues and schedule service appointments in coordination with the Fleet or Logistics Officer.
4. Log Keeping & Documentation
- Maintain accurate vehicle movement logs, fuel usage records, and delivery/transport logs.
- Ensure travel authorizations and delivery documents are signed and returned.
- Support security protocols by logging entry/exit at checkpoints and maintaining situational awareness.
5. Compliance & Support Duties
- Observe all Kenyan traffic laws and company transport policies.
- Support office logistics such as loading/unloading supplies, setting up field camps, or accompanying staff on long-distance assignments.
- May be assigned ad hoc administrative or courier duties when not engaged in driving.
Qualification
- KCSE Certificate or equivalent academic background.
- Valid Kenyan Driver’s License (Class BCE or equivalent).
- Certified Defensive Driving Course from a recognized institution (e.g., AA Kenya, NTSA-approved providers).
- Valid certificate of good conduct.
- At least 5 years’ driving experience, including experience in long-distance and off-road driving.
- Experience driving within construction, manufacturing, energy, or NGO sectors is highly desirable.
- Basic mechanical skills or training is an added advantage.

- Adaptability: Comfortable with changing schedules, remote site assignments, and working under pressure.
