Job Role

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for the position of Cook. The Cook will be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious and balanced meals for farm staff, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, monitoring inventory, adhering to food safety standards, and accommodating special dietary needs are key aspects of this role. Collaboration with the farm manager to plan menus and coordinate meal schedules is also essential. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a cook or chef, knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines, familiarity with food safety regulations, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare nutritious and balanced meals for farm staff according to dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items and sanitation of cooking utensils and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory of food supplies and place orders as needed to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Always adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions of farm staff, if applicable.
  • Collaborate with farm manager to plan menus and coordinate meal schedules.
Qualification
  • Proven experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines, with a focus on healthy and balanced meals.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
